SEARCHING FOR SOLITUDE

(Sarah Middleton-Woolley & Nigel Smith)

Where can I go for some time alone?
Away from the four walls of my home
I’m surrounded by others in every place
An ever decreasing confined space

Everywhere I turn there’s someone in my way
I’m struggling for room to breathe
I’m searching for solitude today

SOLO

Everywhere I turn there’s someone in my way
I’m struggling for room to breathe
I’m searching for solitude today

Every event spoilt by the crush
Through crowded streets we’re herded and pushed
And the building of houses onto the smallest of plots
Pastures and meadows to be forgot

Everywhere I turn there’s someone in my way
I’m struggling for room to breathe
I’m searching for solitude today
